Hospital Bag Must-Haves

Ok, the time has come! Baby is about to join the family and you are packing that bag to get to the hospital. While it might seem like a short stay to pack for, there are some things that will make your stay feel that much less stressful and ease your transition in welcoming your little bundle of joy.

There's nothing like holding your sweet newborn baby for the first time...

Hospital Bag Must-Haves

  1. A long phone charger! The hospital rooms can be configured in varying ways, making a shorter phone charger less ideal when you may be bed-bound with an epidural or simply recovering as a mama should!
  2. Button-up pajamas! These are perfect for nursing and or welcoming family members to come meet your newborn rather than being in a hospital gown.
  3. An easy going home outfit for yourself and baby! I recommend a soft dress for mama that is easy to put on and a cute little footie for baby!
  4. Slippers! While the hospital does provide non-slip socks, there is something nice about having cozy slippers on your feet when you're away from home.
  5. A dimmable light! This light was perfect for those late night feeds without turning on the bright overhead lights .
  6. Your own shampoo! Taking a good shower after your deliver your newborn is heavenly, and it feels so good to have your own favorite products to feel and smell like yourself after such a big life change.
  7. Your own pillow! While this may be controversial, I recommend bringing your own pillow with a patterned/colored pillowcase so it doesn't get lost in the white hospital linens. It really does make a difference for sleep ;)

There's no place like home... especially after a hospital stay... *wink, wink*
